Review of week ending 13/10/2013

Things are quieting down on the field at this time of year, despite this we had to split our resources last Saturday as our U16s record a 12 point victory over Dundalk Gaels in the Division 1 league semi final which threw in at 4.30p.m. in Mell. A strong second half performance saw our lads pull away in the last 20 minutes to set up a meeting with either Newtown Blues or St Marys Ardee in the final on Friday 25th October 2013 in Darver..  As the lads left the field text messages were flying to see how our Junior 2 team were doing in the championship final against Hunterstown in Philipstown a game where throw in was 5p.m. . Early reports were good with our lads holding a big lead at half time however Hunterstown fought back and aided by some bad wides on our behalf levelled the game with a couple of minutes to go. The replay is fixed for next Thurday nite in Darver and a big support would be a tremendous boost to the lads. Finally a depleted and deflated senior team took the field for our last league game v Dreadnots on Sunday in a game that only meant something to the visitors the scoreline reflected this.
