This week was one to forget for the club with 4 teams our U14 Boys and Girls teams, Minors and Adult team all exiting the championship. Our U14s could not overcome the absence of 2 key players as they were beaten by a strong St Fechins team , while our girls but in a valiant effort away to St Pats , The minors again missing key players were outlplayed by a very strong St Marys team. On Sunday our adult team bowed out of the Championship with a heartbreaking 1 point defeat to Naomh Fionbarra. The Lads put up a great effort and played with real pride in the jersey and had managed to turn a 6 point 1/2 time deficit into a 4 point lead with 10 mins to go . However 2 points and a heartbreaking goal got finbarrs over the line. While days like this are really hard, time is a great healer and I'm sure these brave men will come back next year a better team for the experience. Best of Luck to Finbarrs and in particular Martin Crosby a former stallwart of Plunketts and now managing the men from Togher. Finally its an ill wind that brings no good and a mention to our U13 footballers who had struggled early in the season but put in a superb performance to beat Cooley 7-8 to 0-2 in the Shield final, Well done lads!!
